Kindness

The last two days have been a blur.

Trying to be there for my friend I took on her shift at the driving school.  She does classroom I have car.  I like car better.  Sure, I did not almost die during my 4 hour shift.  But I can always turn the radio up if they are annoying.  Where as in a room full on hormonal teens that are crushing on teacher then get me...it was a tough crowd.  I brought the hammer and almost had to kick one sweet pea out.  Little punk think he the funny in the room.  He had no idea I am the running jokes in this room not him.

Then today...stressful meeting after school.  I have a passion for social studies...mainly history.  As an expression of my passion I have joined my state professional organization, Texas Council for Social Studies (TCSS), my local council is going to be throwing the 2012 state conference. (Assuming the Mayans got it wrong and society has not melted into a Zombieland...love that movie.)  It is exhausting being with a bunch of strong minded people who are all passionate and want the best...or even better...their way.

In all this drama, my sweet friend Joanna, at Drizzle of Sunshine nominated me for the....

Joanna is a witty teacher in So Cal living the dream...well the about to be laid off of teaching dream. Her blog constantly makes me laugh. She cooks, writes and makes observations that will enlighten.  Visit her if you dare.

Okay...a few rules with the award: (Hemm... clears throat...)
1.) Thank and link back to the one who awarded you...did it and done
2.) Share 7 things about yourself

3.) Pass the award on to some awesome blogs
4.) Contact said bloggers and let them know they are awesome

I will try for 7 random things...

1) I am pretty sure after teaching 7th grade for 11 years I have ADHD.  Completely self diagnosed of course.

2) I have only received flowers 4 times in my life.  Twice I had surgery,  once a thankful parent of a student and the other as a welcome home when I returned from being an exchange student.  I love flowers. It is only recently that I have started buying them for myself.  They are best self hug you can give.

3) I enjoy working out...but only after I have started to sweat.  Until that first sweat I am miserable and hate life.   I know it makes no sense.

4) I cannot eat mushrooms.  (Warning: Gross)  After one Thanksgiving I apparently had a stomach virus.  I did not realize I had the stomach virus until was standing in line at J.C. Penny's with my Thursday madness sale items and started to get chills and the most overwhelming sensation I was going to die.  I at least made it to the parking lot before re-enacting Exorcist.  The crowning moment was when the final gasp for oxygen at the end and I pulled a mushroom from my nose...done with mushrooms.

5)  I feel more comfortable with teens then adults.  There is more honesty.  No matter if it is good or bad...you will know where you stand.

6) I love the idea of being at the beach. Think it is the sound of the waves, the feel of the sand in my toes. When I get to the beach the sand gets in my eyes, and feels like sand paper on my cheeks.  I get icked out my the strange sea items that wash ashore and am positive I will get snatched up by a shark.  I am pretty delicious...there is a lot to be worried about.

7) ...I got nothing...see number 1

  1. Your random things made me laugh! Yes, the idea of a beach IS much better than the reality, isn't it?
