New York, New York...

My very good friend has had a rough year.
Adding insult to injury, she turns 30 this year.
She and I want to go to New York...a complete girls weekend.

 I have never been.

We have a few things on our list of must do's.

We gotta see the old girl,

visit the museum well not the smith but where it all started.

And then, definitely

We will have to pay homage,

and see a show.

We will be going early in November.

We want to eat and partake of all things wonderful  and are looking for any suggestions?

  1. I went to NYC 5 years ago with my grandmother and her friend, and I had the time of my life. You. Will. Love it. I want to go back so badly!

*high tea at The Ritz...fun and fancy
*just about any place in Little Italy...gelato to die for
*street cart food...I was skeptical, but as long as you choose one that looks clean, it's usually really good

As I think of more, I'll be sure to let you know! So excited for you!

  2. I just had to comment because I LOLed at the adding insult to injury part. Tell her 30 isn't as bad as she thinks, 31 kinda sucks though.

I went this past summer and winter and didn't do a lot of touristy stuff but liked the Village, Chinatown and Hells Kitchen areas. I like to just go walk around and see what I run into.

  3. Love NYC. A couple of things I recommend: If you're in town on a week day, Wall Street at 5 o'clock when everyone is getting off work. Just stand there and soak up the energy. It's fantastic. Don't forget the Empire State Building. It's best if you time your visit just at dusk so you can watch the lights of the city come on. If you can afford it, a hotel room that overlooks Central Park is great. (If not Loew's Summit is a nice hotel.) Oh, and carriage ride around the park.

  4. This should be a blast!

And hopefully more relaxing than my sporadic-and-jam-packed roadtrip to NY was.

If you both have the time and are looking for a quiet place to visit outside the city, Nyack is a really cool town and just minutes away.

P.S. I'm having another Etsy Gift Card Giveaway starting tomorrow morning! Please come check it out!

  6. I have heard the wax museum is pretty awesome too. And yeah, you gotta go to the Empire State Building.
